Dear relation of Barge Terminal Born,
On March 19th the message came from the Ministry of Infrastructure & Water management that part of the Juliana Canal will be closed from October 2024 till May 2025.
This part of the Canal is located south of our inland terminal and does not effect our services to Rotterdam.
For our services to Antwerp we cannot use the Albert Canal in this period. Instead we will use the river Maas and the Rhein-Schelde connection. Our services and schedules of the barges will remain intact.
For some of our customers this closing brings serious problems in their operations, so we hope that the time period can be shortened one-way or another.
We stay in close contact with the authorities in order to secure our intermodal services for our customers and stakeholders.
